Error in Editor when using CTL + i to turn on or off italicize

I am implementing the use of the editor in my application and have found on many occasions that the editor throws an error when using the CTL + i to turn on the italicize function. 

Steps to repro.

1. Type some text into the editor.
2. press CTL + i to turn on italicize
3. type some text
4. press CTL + i to turn off italicize
5. type a space
6. press CTL + i to turn on italicize

 Error:  RangeError: Applying a mismatched transaction. And then the editor CTL function no longer work...

Indeed, the demonstrated undesired behavior is caused by a bug on our side. That is why I logged an issue in our public GitHub repository where it can be tracked:

Thanks for taking it on. I thought it may be a bug but it was first time using the editor component so was not sure if I had something set up wrong.
