Hi guys,

it seems the Drawer Control is broken since a few Kendo Versions in Internet Explorer 11. I am using currently the latest 2020 version of the Kendo controls (v2020.1.114). The bug seems to be introduced somewhere 2019, I assume. For example, version v2019.3.1023 also has this bug.

How to reproduce:

Just click on the Drawer-Icon (to open the Navigation), but nothing happens. This problem only happens in Internet Explorer 11 (Dev Tools: Emulation -> Apple Safari ). In Chrome and Edge it seems to work fine, also on my mobile device (Samsung Galaxy S10).

In older Kendo version (e.g: 2018.1.221) it works fine, but there are other problems which are fixed in the latest 2020 version, so I cannot step back...

Thanks for your help,

Greetings

Here is another screenshot from the working drawer with latest kendo controls. It works in Chrome, Edge and on my mobile device.

Hello,

Thank you for the provided description.

I tried to reproduce the Kendo UI Drawer not opening on Safari on a genuine device and the widget works as expected:

https://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-mvc/drawer/mini

The Kendo UI team tests the widgets in real devices and OS as emulations do not provide a true environment in most cases:

https://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/intro/supporting/browser-support#notes-on-web-browser-support

Nonetheless, I did try it out of curiosity but was not able to reproduce it:

In case you find any issues with the widget besides the emulation mode in IE 11, please provide us with details how to reproduce them.

It is important to note that IE 11 is no longer updated by Microsoft(except security updates)

Hello Alex,

thanks for the reply.

You can reproduce the bug directly with your Kendo UI Hybrid Mobile Demos. Please follow the exact steps.

1.) Run Internet Explorer 11

2.) Go to your demo page with the drawer: https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/m/index#mobile-drawer/index

3.) Now if you click the drawer, everything works fine, cause we are in desktop mode of IE 11.

4.) Press F12 in the browser (Dev Toolbar opens), click on "Emulation" Tab and switch "User Agent String" to "Apple Safari (iPad)".

5.) Now the page automatically refreshes and is rendered in Mobile Mode (instead of Desktop Mode).

6.) Now if you click on the Drawer Icon, nothing happens -> The drawer Menu is broken in IE 11 (Mobile Mode)

As I reported earlier, it worked for example in version 2018.1.221. You just need to replace the latest Kendo "kendo.all.min.js" with the one from Version 2018.1.221 and the drawer is working again, of course than you have other bugs.

I know that IE 11 is no longer updated, but our client still used it for testing the mobile parts with the Emulation described.

Greetings

Hello,

The Kendo UI widgets are designed to work on real devices and any irregularities that are only apparent in emulators, quirks modes or simulations are not considered bugs unless they are reproducible in a supported environment.

https://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/intro/supporting/browser-support#notes-on-web-browser-support

If you can reproduce the faulty behaviour on an iOS device, please let us know the iOS version and device type so we can look into it.

Hello,

that is not what I wanted to hear. I thought you could fix the Internet Explorer 11 problem because it was already working.
Anyway, thanks for reply.

Greetings
