Hi

In Visual Studio, Chrome, Firefox, and all other apps that support tabbed windows with docking and floating, it is possible to grab the tab of a window, and move it left or right along the tab row, in order to change the tab ordering. The window only undocks if you move the mouse outside of the tab row area.

Can this behaviour please be implemented in RadDocking? At the moment, as soon as you grab a tab and move it, it undocks. I think the behaviour should be made to be more in line with other applications that support docking/floating/tabbing.

Thanks
Tom Davies

Hi Tom,

Unfortunately, this behaviour is not implemented yet for the RadDocking control. It is logged as a feature request. You can vote and track this progress in our Public Issue Tracking System (PITS) with Issue ID = 2581. If we receive enough clients' requests we will consider implementing it.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any further information.

Best wishes,

When will this feature be added? We need this feature by May - if it will not be done by May please let us know so that we can either try alternative docking frameworks, or try to fix it ourselves using your source code.

Thanks

Hello Tom,

We are currently changing the TabControl which the RadDocking control is based on. After finishing these changes we will start fixing the issues in the RadDocking control connected to the RadTabControl like this one.

We should be able to implement this feature for May.

Hi

Has the feature requested above been implemented for RadDocking?  This feature seems fundamental to the behavior of this control and in the 2015 version this feature is not here?  Do I need to set a specific parameter or theme for this feature?  I am using windows 7 theme.  This has been raised in 2010.  Your support link above does not work.

 Thank you.

Hi Karen,

We are really glad to inform you that this feature has been implemented with version Q3 2012. In order to enable it you just need to set the AllowDragReorder property of RadDocking to True.

Please, check the following article from our help documentation for some more detailed  information:
http://docs.telerik.com/devtools/wpf/controls/raddocking/features/dragreorder

Hopes this helps.

Nasko
