Hi Telerik Team!

In our concern we follow several methods to bind the fields such as "binding thro dataset","binding directly using functions","binding the data using object data source".
Out of all these methods, data get binded & the field values get populated in the "expression" of the report viewer only when "objectdatasource method" is used.when we use the rest of the methods, we developers face the problem of writing the code manually. i.e(Fields.EmployeeName)
We doesnot face these sort of problems in other reporting services.
Why it is so??Why this functionality doesn't support for all the methods?

Hello aabidhabanu,

When you're using the ObjectDataSource Component, any of the following data sources can be assigned to the DataSource property of the ObjectDataSource component:

• Any component that implements IEnumerable , including System.Array , IList , ICollection , and BindingSource
• Any component that implements IListSource, including DataTable, DataSet and DataView
• Any component that implements IDbDataAdapter, including SqlDataAdapter and OleDbDataAdapter
• System.Type which represents the type of the business object

So there is no need to manually wire up data source with code. The ObjectDataSource Component takes care of retrieving the available database fields.
