Hi THere,

My model contains 4 dates Planned  Start and End vs Actual Start and End dates. How can I overlay the second pair of dates on the same bar in different color or shaded? I don't see no bar templates, and I can't figure how I can offset based on the date differences in dataBound event.

Please advise best approach.

Hello,

Task templates will be included in our next official release, and you will be able to modify the bar element to suit your needs.

Currently you can use the dataBound event to get a reference to the rendered element, and modify it manually. Here's a dojo sample demonstrating how you can get the element and dataItem inside the dataBound event:

This is good so long that everything is within the same Start/Edn time frame. How would you handle an offset or hashed bar on top of the current taskbar, to indicate Actual vs Planned dates? In your own sample above, how could I take the "Market Research Task" and apply an overlay on it to show it started 5 days early and ended on 6/2 without changing the original task bar? Is it possible?

Hello,

What you can do is append an element to the task element and position it absolutely, in order to offset it from the task itself. This will involve a higher level of customization, involving calculations of position based on time. Unfortunately we can't provide a ready to use solution, as this falls outside the scope of our support services.
