Hi all,

I was looking for a simple solution to disabling the print button and the export button with the SL report viewer.  What I am trying to accomplish is the following.

I'm trying to create an initial load screen (report) similar to the report provided in the example folder (VS2010 C#).  In that example it lists those available reports for viewing and you are able to click the appropriate report you would like to view.

I'm going about a similar initial load page (rptSplash), but I would like to restrict the ability to print / export this specific page.  I looked in the Viewer for a binding event to try and check the currently (newly) bound report but didn't see such an event to use.

Can you please provide a little guidance or a suggestion.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

There is no out of the box functionality for your inquiry especially because reporting solutions are meant for printing and exporting. The Silverlight viewer is a template (Creating Style in Expression Blend) and you can find general information on changing templated controls in the Styling a control that supports templates MSDN article.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for the follow-up.  I will go down the path you referenced.

I would offer up for consideration, however, that reporting solutions are meant for providing actionable intelligence, not necessarily printing and exporting.  As you may understand there can be confidential documents that should be prevented from being printed or exported and this would be a very useful feature within the solution.  (Certainly the workstation would have to suppress a print screen attempt but that would be outside of the telerik concern.)

In any event I understand the direction I have to head, thank you again.
