Hi Xaria D,

Do you get any compile time or run time errors? Please provide more info what exactly is not working.

Kind regards,
Vlad

Hi,

In this case you need to install Northwind to your local version of SQL Server and change the connection string to use your Norhtwind instead the one from our demos. You can get Northwind from here

An unhandled exception of type 'System.InvalidCastException' occurred in WindowsBase.dll

Additional information: Unable to cast object of type 'System.Byte[]' to type 'System.String'.

I get this error when I click on the gridView option in the demo

Hi,

You will need to recreate the data models since in the original Northwind some string fields (used for pictures) are changed to real image fields.

Then what do I need to change to make this work?
Could you please be more specific? Will re-installing Telerik work? Please give me specific details.

Hi,

You have our database (Northwind.mdf) however according to your first post you cannot open it since you have old version of SQL Server.

Kind regards,
Vlad

I have SQL Server 2005 and I believe Q3 2009 is using SQL2005.

Hi Xaria D,

Our Silverlight and WPF demos has never used SQL 2005.
They are built with VS 2008 in the past and VS 2010 now, so they always use SQL 2008.

The best thing you can do is to install the free SQL 2008 Express edition and configure the connection string (located at RadControls for WPF \ Demos \ Examples \ GridView \ app.config) to point to that instance.

Kind regards,
