Dates on the category axis of line chart

Is there some way that I can get DataViz to automatically generate a nice looking axis when using dates on the category axis? It would be helpful if it for instance could choose an appropriate step size etc. automatically. 

If this isn't possible I have another question. How do I make it step over some ticks cause I only want ticks where I have labels.

Hi Niclas,

I am afraid that currently Kendo UI Chart does not support date axes. The good news is that such feature is scheduled for our next official release, which is expected in the first half of July.

Regarding your other question - you could set up a step to the labels via the step configuration option.

Regarding my other question. I was asking for a way to configure the ticks on the category axis, not the labels.

Can you please document these missing features.  Otherwise we spend hours trying to implement a non-exitent feature.  I spent 2+ hours trying to make a date/time x-axis work when it can't.

There doesn't appear to be anything documenting which data types are supported and which are not for the x-axis.

I am afraid at this stage "making a step over some ticks" functionality is not supported, but this idea sounds good and I would suggest to share it as a feature request at our UserVoice page. This way the community can evaluate and vote for it. The more votes it collect, the higher priority it will have.

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused. The Kendo UI's documentation includes detailed description of the currently available widgets, their methods and properties. In the chart configuration section is noted that the categoryAxis object is used to set the category names. The date axes is a special case of the axes and when this option become available it will be included in our documentation.
