I'm trying to get a combo box to have a custom template depending on the row, as it needs to have essentially sub headers within the combobox. Currently using a non-Kendo combobox we have this however is something like this even possible within Kendo?

Hello Mark,
I am afraid that grouping is currently not supported by the ComboBox widget. Templates could be used to achieve the same look and feel (see example), however that would require the developer to take care of the items order. Moreover, the parent items could be selected, unless there is a custom logic preventing that. I would suggest submitting a feature request (or voting for existing one) on our feedback portal, so the grouping feature could be publicly discussed, voted for and prioritized.
