Hi there,

I have conditional formatting that controls the visibility of a text field depending on the value of a report parameter.

In the Report Viewer preview screen as well as an export to PDF or Excel, the visibility is honored. With CSV, however, all non-static text fields appear regardless of the report parameter settings.

What could I be doing wrong?

Thanks,
Mark

Hello Mark DeMichele,

The CSV rendering extension does not respect visible/invisible sections and formatting and layout are also ignored - this is expected behavior. The main purpose of the CSV format is to transfer data between different information systems (programs). For example you may import it in MS Excel or Word. For this reason the CSV format is not designed to be human-readable and is not "WYSIWYG" as Pdf, Html or Excel formats. More about the idea that lies behind the CSV format can be read here. If you want a WYSIWYG exported file, please use the excel rendering extension.

All the best,
Steve
