Critical Path

Hi I'm evaluating the Telerik Gantt component.

I've only worked with the 'basic' Gantt example and haven't gotten much further yet.

Before I dig deeper, I'd like to ask, can this component be used to depict a 'critical path' diagram?

Can you advise what I might need to do?

I was thinking I would remove the dates being displayed and try to emphasize the critical path with a different color or re-ordering of the tasks. I haven't really looked at the critical path algorithm and was hoping someone at Telerik was way ahead of me.

Hi,

The gantt widget doesn't calculate CriticalPath out of the box, so if you need this functionality you will have to make the calculations manually. Unfortunately we don't have a sample demonstrating the algorithm that we can provide. If you do manage to calculate the critical path of tasks, you can use the following sample as a guide to show you how you can colorize your tasks in different colors:

You can also log this as a feature request in our UserVoice, so that other people can vote for it, and if it gets enough votes, we can consider implementing it as a built in feature of the widget:
