Is it possible to take a report produced in the standalone designer, convert it and save it as a report class file?

A developer has built a number of reports using the standalone designer, and we'd like to roll them in with the existing reporting class library, but not sure how to get from the TRDX file to the VB version.

I've read this post, but I still don't understand if I can do the conversion to a class file, or how.

Nope, you can't serialize TRDX to VB report. See: http://www.telerik.com/forums/import-a-trdx-file-from-report-designer-into-vs2012

Still you can copy and paste report items between the report designers. Thus you can easily recreate the reports in VS report designer.

Thanks for the clarification. I think this is a serious weakness in the tool, and throw my support behind other posters who have asked for this feature.

At first our developers were excited about this tool, but not being able to move report definitions into compiled code is a non-starter.Cutting and pasting object by object really isn't a practical approach.

I strongly agree with everyone else. One of our front end developers was going to mock up a bunch of reports, and then we wanted to import them into an existing .net library. Not having this feature severely limits the usefulness of this new 'standalone' tool.
