Creating new chart types

Generally, customization of the built-in types is possible to some extent -- could you elaborate a bit more on what specific functionality are you looking for?

For example, a radial chart (http://www.manifold.net/products/commander/chart03.png). Do you think that it could be done by customizing one of the built-in chart types?

Hello Petr,

Radar/Polar charts use fundamentally different concepts from the currently supported linear and radial series types and it will not be possible to create custom Radar type on your own.

Generally Radar/Polar charts are in our TODO list and we will consider providing built-in implementation for one of the future releases of the control (tentatively the first half of 2011).

Somewhere I read that the Radar/Polar charttypes are in the 2011 roadmap. Is this correct and is it part of the 2011.2 or 2011.3 release?

Reason is I need to have this chart type oherwise it's a no go...

Hi Jan Brandsma,

We have previously discussed the potential availability of Radar/Polar charts for the 2011 roadmap but unfortunately at the moment it is certain that they will not be part of the Q2 2011 release. We still haven't finalized our plans for the Q3 2011 release but at this moment we cannot commit a promise that radar charts will be available by the end of the year as we are currently working on a more general solution to the problems and limitations present in the current version of RadChart.
