Hi

Is it possible to use RichTextBox to achieve the following?

1. Create a new Word Document ("Document 1") from a Word Template
2. Import the contents from another Word Document into "Document 1"
3. Save "Document 1" as a Word 2003 document with the Template correctly attached

It needs to be 2003 as this is for a legacy application.

Thanks
Mark Donne

Hello Mark,

Thank you for contacting us. Directly to your questions:

1. Currently, RadRichTextBox does not support word templates. This is logged in our public issue tracking system and you can track its progress and status by following this link.

2. Importing parts from saved word documents is also not implemented. This is also logged in the issue tracking system.

3. We do not have plans to add support for Office 2003 documents in our suite. You can find all supported document formats in this help article.

If you have any other questions, I will be glad to help.

It seems that RadRichTextBox does not support word templates until now. What a pity! Before I came to Telerik, I used to creat Word documents using some manaul tools which can be customized according to users' favors. But I was a student then, I have only checked its free trial package. I hope the RadRichTextBox will support word templates one day.

Hello Arron,

Thank you for writing back.

Let me briefly explain how we prioritize our feature requests. After logging a new one in our Public Issue Tracking System - PITS, users are free to track its progress, subscribe for status changes and add their vote/comment. The more votes a feature request has, the higher priority it gets. We strive to provide our customers with the most desired functionality expressed by the votes.

I hope this information helps. Should you have further questions, I would be glad to help.

Regards,
Desislava
