Hi,

I don't know whether anyone has used the new google calendar but it has a pretty cool alert box and I was wondering if anyone knows how to do it ?

Basically, it pops up a layer in the middle of the screen and it fades everything in the background to white (about 50%).

If that doesn't really explain it then I've taken a screengrab here...

I thought that layer transparency only worked in IE but this seems to work in Firefox too, also I have no idea how they have centred the layer in the middle of the screen.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Jon

Can someone tell me how I can trust this hotfix, when installing it to the example site that Telerik installs breaks when you apply the update?

I've applied it to my applications, and it works, but I worry that when a change that Telerik makes, BREAKS something THEY created...  the little developer in the back of my head worries something else is wrong.

Can search engines effectively index a site that is built using the AJAX functionality of the Telerik suite?  The crawlers index your site by following the links from page to page but using AJAX their are no links for it to follow that I know of since they can't process scripts.

My site is managed from a CMS so building the site map xml document that they recommend is not as easy as it sounds and it doesn't handle all the possibilities that link based browsing allows for.

Is this something that Telerik has taken into consideration?

Jim

BTW, SEO means "Search Engine Optimization" in the marketing world if anyone doesn't already know that.

Hi,

A  short question. Will the ajax structure work with web services?

webpage <-> ajax client <------> ajax server <-> web services <-> BLL, DB, etc.

I figure this will work, but just want to make sure that there arent any problems - in theory ;-)

Thanks,
Tim

I spent some time searching for a solution that would allow me to access my ASP.NET 2.0 application from a Windows Mobile 5.0 based smart phone - and only found stuff that is 3 years old.

FlowFinity on the other hand, offers a state of the art solution (Blackbird), dedicated to the BlackBerry platform.

Does anyone know of a similar solution for Mobile 5.0 devices?

Thanks in advance

Hello,
My suggestion return to Telerik Forums.
In many of post we can see sample applications, it's good.
Many of these applications have some name such as WebApplication1(it's a public and not specific name) ,it's bad.
We can download them from forum(for example 016901_WebApplication1.zip) , it's good.
Some of posts have more than one projects and detailed info on them ,it's good.
we can't find them again if we haven't some text of post,it's bad.

My suggestion is simple please show & make searchable posts ID for feature searching.

I've been working this weekend so I could get many little usability issues out for the way on our application while no one is around to bother me.  I've been making great progress in a large part to the telerik forums.  I've resolved many problems and found a nice optimization (Grid NoPersistance) by using the Forums.

Thanks to all the telerik staff who have answered questions and all the customers who have asked questions or posted answers!!

Thanks,
Mark
