Hello all,

The awaited Service Pack 2 for Telerik RadControls for ASP.NET, WinForms, and Prometheus suites is to be released next week, Tuesday, June 26.

The Service Pack will cover mostly bugs that have been reported since Service Pack 1. The WinForms suite will also see some minor performance improvements in the TPF, several fixes and improvements in the Shaped Form, as well as extensive testing.

Feel free to share any suggestions until the end of this week in order to consider them for the upcoming Service Pack.

Yours truly,
The Telerik team

I fianlly spent the two seconds it takes to Google "Visual Studio 2005 clear recent projects window" and I found a hand little tool.

Simply clears out items that you chose to remove from your recent projects list. Woo hoo!

Just a few simple suggestions regarding usability on the Telerik site:

1.  It would be nice if you could click 'Enter' when performing a search on the forum.   I ALWAYS enter the search terms then click 'Enter', but then have to remember that I'm required to click on the button with the mouse.

2.  It would also be nice if, in the Triton Help pages, you could get some visual indication of which page you're currently viewing.    An example is this page.   I linked directly to this page from the forum, but cannot tell where I am in the context of the menu on the left.  This is the case even if I don't link directly, but choose a link from the menu.  I see which menus are expanded, but not which page I'm viewing.

Thanks.

When I code in C#, lets say I'm doing something simple:

string bob = "asdf"

bo

Right at that point when I'm typing "bo" then an intellisense window will pop down and suggest "bob" It's sweet.  Unfortunately, in VB.NET, this won't happen.

dim bob as string = "asdf"

bo

It sits there.... does nothing.  If I press "CTRL-SPACE" and then start typing bob THEN it will work.  Since I don't feel like developing arthritis anytime soon I was wondering if there was a way to make VB.NET work just like C# in this way so I dont have to keep pressing CTRL-SPACE.

Thanks,

Robert

May I suggest that you improve the site navigation by adding quick links, and a way out from the "dead-end" in the documentation section.
The most common sections for me (and I am sure for other clients) are:
Forums
Demos
Code Library
Documntation

You also have frequent cross reference text (occasionally with out links) such as "For more detail see the documentation on <sometopic>"
So lets say I am in this forum (I actually was on the documetion section (mildly) frustrated that there are no links out, even not to the home page; so I backspaced on the brouser address to go to the home poage and then use the community drop down/forums ... After sending this message I want to go to demos, they are under the product category menu, but of course in my case it is alearning/documentaion tool; even through the product category I have to go two levels to get to the actual demos.
Adding quick links to the above categories and cross reference links will help a lot!  so if I am in the doumentation on RadGrid, I would like to see  three links there, pointing to: RadGrid Forum, RadGrid Code Library, and RadGrid Dem section; and similary cross-ref links in the other categories.

Very minor work on your side; big help for those of us spending a lot of time on your site.

Thanks,
-- Arie

Dear Telerik forum --

We have been using RadDatePicker v. 1.6 for about a year, and before introducing some changes to associated software features we decided to try the most recent v. 2.1.

Total disaster. Both client-side and server-side interfaces broke, and our carefully tuned calendar appearance turned to a Picasso. We have gone back to v. 1.6, where we will stay unless the unlikely happens and we can somehow afford another 1-2 days of experimental programming.

Users need for Telerik to adopt a strong policy of release compatibility. Bad design decisions are regrettable, but changes that break code are unacceptable. A continuation of current policy will zero out the worth of maintaining support.
