It seems like to open a collapsed group, the entire report has to be completely re-built and rendered. I have 3 nested collapsed groups. The response between each open makes the report pretty much useless.
Is it normal to have to completely re-create the report with each expand or collapse? Is there some sort of caching that can be employed?

Hi Ralph,

The report is not recreated. You can test at your side that data is not retrieved again on toggling the visibility. Running your report in debug will show you the process occurring on  showing/hiding sections - processing and rendering. Both processes are required due to the newly displayed sections/items.

In addition, on toggle visibility there is cached data about the state of the report, in order to optimize the further interaction e.g. export and print.

Let us know if you have any further concerns.
