We have a kendo grid, which has a date field in it.  That date field is sometimes empty.  When kendo sorts ascending (future dates are at the end), the empty fields appear in the front.  Is it possible to change the sort mechanism to make empty dates appear lower in the sort order (near the bottom) rather than higher?

Hi John,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

I am afraid that the DataSource does not provide opportunity for changing the sort algorithm or for using custom sorting. Actually this idea has been already submitted as a feature request at KendoUI UserVoice forum. If you would like to see this functionality added in one of the future releases, you may vote for it and/or leave a comment. The more votes it collects the higher priority it will have.

I have added an entry there, but please understand we will continue to call this a bug in our internal system.

Hello John,

As a workaround I can suggest you to use serverSorting. In this way you would be able to handle sort operations on the server. Kendo Grid will display the sorted data set as it is returned from the server.
