Hi,

I'd like to use the PivotGrid control in a scenario where there may be several layers of grouping in the Rows.

At the moment on the demos page I can see that when you expand a group (eg "All Products"), the expanded items are not directly below the All Products heading but off to the right.  This very quickly eats up horizontal room.

Is it possible to instead nest the expanded items almost directly below the heading (maybe only slightly to the right), like you'd expect in a tree view?

I'm including a screenshot of what it looks like and what I'd like to be able to do.

Cheers,

Ilya

Hi Ilya,

Thank you for the provided screenshot of the desired appearance of the Kendo UI PivotGrid.

The grouping that happens with the Kendo UI PivotGrid is not the same that happens for the Kendo UI Grid. There is no additional subgrid or an HTML grid that gets rendered. Simply, rows are added to the current content. This is due to the fact that cells within the group should be aligned with the header cells above. If they were to be transitioned slightly to the left, there would be a misalignment that would have a negative impact on the UI of the widget.

As well as, the cells depend on the ones from above. If they are changed, there might be misunderstandings for the users in case of a header cell and data cell mismatch.

The grouped item is simply a grid with two columns. While the content is another grid with its corresponding columns.

In conclusion, I would like to say that offsetting the grouped items of the PivotGrid is not supported.

I hope you find this information helpful.
