I'm getting an error dialog opening SDK Samples Browser:

Cannot connect to Telerik XAML-SDK GitBug repository. Possible reasongs:

- internet connection is not available

- GitHub.com is down for maintenance

Both assumptions are false.

How to fix this annoying dialog?

Hi Gennady,

For the time being, we are not aware of such an error. What I can suggest you is to completely remove and reinstall the SDK Samples Browser. Then, pull a fresh copy of the SDK Samples repository and point the browser to it. Is the problem still reproduced after these steps?

Hi, Stefan,

reinstalling/pulling not help. The same "Cannot connect to Telerik XAML-SDK GitHub repository" message.

and it happens on loading sdk samples. I think it is trying to get latest version from repository. I can do it manually though.

Not a big deal, just annoying dialog.

Gennady

Hello Gennady,

Sorry to hear that you are still experiencing the issue.

Can you please verify that there is enough disk space where the examples are downloaded? There should be at least 300-350MB available. If there is enough disk space there might be some network restriction which disables the access to GitHub. You can try opening the repository through a browser in such case.

I hope this helps.

Hi, Stefan,

plenty space in c: (120Gb)

I think some permissions needed inside SDK Samples Browser, Sourcetree is pulling samples from GitHub fine.

Thank you,

Gennady

Hello Gennady,

Thank you for the additional information.

I tried to reproduce the received dialog, however I was not able to do so. Since the previous suggestions did not help and I was not able to reproduce the scenario on my end, I am afraid that nothing else comes to mind. At this point the only suggestion that I can offer as an alternative, is viewing the examples directly in the browser or checking them out in visual studio. If you find any other relevant information that might help, please share it and I will further investigate.

Please, excuse us for any inconvenience caused.

Hi.

I face with a similar issue when I want to install SDK Samples Browser: going to the Install link from Telerik (https://docs.telerik.com/devtools/wpf/developer-focused-examples/sdk-samples-browser), allows me only to download SDKSamplesBrowser.application and not to run directly. Never the less, when I click on the .application, a small windows with a connection between a local computer and a site is displayed on the screen for 1-2 seconds, and then an error occurs (see the attached picture).

Other details:

-I have Windows 10 version 1903, build 18362.388 (clean installation, without any others configurations or installed programs)

- I have enabled the application in widows firewall, I have disabled temporarly Windows Security - without success

- on my second laptop (with Windows 10 Insiders  version 1903 build 18995.1) works as expected!

Thanks in advance for any suggestion,

Micha

Hello Micha,

Thank you for the attached picture.

It seems that Windows is blocking the installations of ClickOnce Applications. Can you check out the following resources on this topic:

Unable to Install ClickOnce Application due to Security Settings (Windows 10)

- How to: Configure the ClickOnce Trust Prompt Behavior

- clickonce application install security warning administrator blocked

I hope you find this helpful.

Sorry for comming back after 5 years with a similar issue.

I want to test SDK Wpf Browser in the 2022 Release, but I face with a issue. The SDK browser doesn't install and gets an error (the same as Stephan  above):

Cannot connect to Telerik XAML-SDK GitHub repository. Possible reasongs:

- internet connection is not available

- GitHub.com is down for maintenance

As mention, internet connection  IS avalable and Git is not down.

How can I solve?

Thanks in advance,

Micha

Could you try removing the SDK Samples Browser completely and then reinstall it, as well as pull a fresh copy of the GitHub repository in an accessible location to point the browser to?

Hi,

Thanks for your support!

Re-installing SDK Browser didn't work. Neither some commands like 'git init' or 'git clone'. What  worked was to clone the github repository via Visual Studio. And even now, despite the fact that the examples are loaded and ready to be run, an error message occurs (see attachement). Anyway it's not a very big inconvenient.

Thank you again,

Misha
