Can't seem to filter

So, I have a report that I can't seem to filter. I want to filter the report based on the SalesCode.

I absolutely know that SalesCode "LB040" exists, but my report is blank when I run it. If I delete the filter, the report shows all the SalesCodes.

Am I formatting it wrong? Is it in the wrong group? I've tried filtering the StopGroup, but that didn't help.

Hello Joe,

Thank you for the provided screenshots.

From what I can see, your filter is correct.

That being said, if you want to filter the records of a report, you do not need to filter its groups, and can apply the filters directly to the report using the properties window, as you have done in the last screenshot (See Filtering Data Overview for additional information).

With that out of the way, here are some general reasons that could explain why the filter does not match any records:

  • The value of the "SalesCode" field might contain leading or trailing spaces. If that is the case, trimming the value using the Trim function should resolve the issue. 

  • Is the value supposed to be "LB040" (with zeroes), or "LBO4O" (with capital O's)?

In case the suggestions above do not help, you can provide the report definition along with some sample data in CSV or a JSON data source, and we will investigate it locally.

As a side note, I would like to add that the Value field of the Edit Filters window treats the value you pass to it as a string by default, so you can type LB040 directly.
