Can I Use Custom Images for the Checkbox in GridCheckboxColumn?

Alternatively, is there a column type that will allow me to fill a cell with a custom image?  In that case I would just handle the clicks myself.

RadGridView offers a GridViewImageColumn which displays read-only images for database columns of image data (OLE container or BLOB).
