Hi!

  1. Run demo application from "RadControls for WinForms Q2 2010 SP2"
  2. Select GridView -> Hierarchy -> Folder Tree
  3. Expand “Program Files” folder – everything is ok.
  4. Expand “My Documents” folder - ok.
  5. Collapse “Program Files” folder – folder is collapsed but icon on “My Documents” folder is changed from “-“to “+”! It might be very misleading to the user.

Is there any workaround?

Regards

Hello Raymond,

It's not just that, the + / - signs are fluctuating wildly if you start playing with it for some time, but I'm guessing it's just a problem with the display image, i will try to take a look at it when i have some spare time and i will get back to you.

I am looking forward on response from you because I used this control in my application and now I have problem with this +/-….

It is not problem only with displaying image +/- please take a look on this.

To scenario that is sent in my first post I can add next point:

 6. “My Documents” is expanded and has image “+” but when I click on “+” folder is not collapsed.

Hello again Raymond,

Sorry, but from what i see there is a visual / expanded item bug in the Folder Tree, a more simple example that something is wrong is just to expand all the parent nodes, and then scroll up and down, you will see that the expand / collapse images are fluctuating, i would suggest submitting a support ticket, and wait for a fix.

By the way, not even the ChildViewExpanding event is firing when this "glitch" occurs...

If there will be no answer on this problem from Telerik soon, i will take a deeper look to see if there is any possible workaround.

Hello,

You can send a support ticket (http://www.telerik.com/account/support-tickets/new-support-ticket.aspx) (with a sample application would be best) but in this case it could easily be checked, although i have to mention that i think that the problem lies with the Hierarchy because the images for the cells (the expanded folder and the closed folder) show up ok but the row expand / collapse are getting scrambled.

Hello guys,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I managed to reproduce it in our Examples application and we will address it in the next major release Q3 2010. Unfortunately, there is no available workaround for the time being.

If you have questions or additional feedback to share, feel free to contact us.

All the best,
