Hello,

I downloaded Telerik for asp in september 2007. It was buggy and I finally turn to DevExpress (buggy but better, to my opinion).

Today, I downloaded DevExpress but was not impressed with it (I haven't found the up-down in the demo). I then downloaded Telerik for WPF. Mainly to look at the up-down. Not a big control that is hard to design but to save time and have an idea on what worth Telerik. I downloaded the trial, installed and 5 minutes after accessing the web site and try the demo of it, I found a bug in the control I need. WOW !!!
I tried to report the bug but I can't. It says many sentenses that I can't figure out in wich case I have exactly but I can't report a bug. I didn't buy it and I already downloaded something 3 years ago (is that for that reason ???). Anybody should be able to report a bug. A company that really want to improve their product would beneficiate from the greatest amount of feedbacks.

The bug is that if you click on the left of a previous entry (say you click before 1 in an entry of 12 345.67) you can "Del" delete the "1" but can't delete more. If you modifiy the text, then the delete works fine...
But they don't want to hear about it from me. They blocked me to report it. The first control I tried was buggy and I found the bug in 30 seconds of try. WPF is not new anymore. I don't really want to continue. I just don't trust them at all. Plus, they don't care of what I have found, they don't want to know they have bugs. Probably they also want to hide them to futur buyer (i did'nt try to look for the knowledge base but I suppose it is also inaccessible).

For me its clear, Telerik is not an option.

Hi Eric,

First of all, I am really sorry to see your frustration. We wish to have been able to assist you.
No matter how you submit a bug - be it in the forums, tickets or the bug report form, we always seriously treat those and log them in our product backlog list to plan them accordingly.

You can start a bug report under your account's Get Support section:

In fact, we will be improving the layout of this page so that you can more easily find the support options. Also, we launched some time ago our Public Issue Tracking System where we collect all the bug reports and update the users on the status:
http://www.telerik.com/support/pits.aspx

As for the problem you are facing - it is caused by the separation comma. The NumericUpDown stops allowing deleting more digits, because the number cannot start with a comma. We will fix this issue in the upcoming service pack which due in a few days.
Your Telerik points have been updated for your involvement.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions about our controls.

Sincerely yours,
Konstantina
the Telerik team

Thanks a lot.

I almost apologize and still i'm not sure if I should or not !

But one thing is sure !!! You are very nice and the support is quick et very professional !!! (It was like that also verty good in 2007, seems still better now)...
But I would prefer having bad support and product that work fine ;-) !  But it seems to be everywhere else the same (products with few to many bugs).

I will wait to see the next release. I apologize for having enter a new bug for the updown, I haven't read all your email and I also seen no trace of the solution you are talking about from the "search" functionnality in the public issue web page. That's why I entered a new bug that for another mysterious reason, I can't find it!

I think that if I had this frustration of trying to report a bug without success, others will fall in the same pitfall and will simply leave without going further. Perhaps you could have only one support page. Then from that point we choose what we are looking for (sections or something else). Only one entry point for support would, I think, probably solve that. Why there is 2 places to report bugs ? It appears to me totally silly (the account definiton should differentiate priority) ?

Just for your very nice answer, I will probably come back in a near future and take another look. But I will wait that next release before continue to test more controls.

Thanks a lot and continue your excellent work!

Hello Eric,

We will be more than happy to see you coming back anytime and we will again try to assist you in the best manner. As I said in my previous post - we will be improving the Support options page and we will definitely consider your suggestions.
Since the issue with the NumericUpDown is resolved I will close the other ticket. The fix for this issue will be included in the upcoming service pack in a few days.

Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions about our controls.
