Autogenerate GridViewColumnGroup from datasource

Can the grid autogenerate GridViewColumnGroup's based on a property on the items in the datasource?  This would be similar in how columns can autogenerate.

Presently, the columns in GridViewColumnGroup cannot be auto-generated. When you create its definition, you should rely on already created columns. We can generate the columns depending on the data source, but we cannot determine in which group they should be located. This is one of the major concerns that stops implementing such a feature.

Thank you.  It would be a very nice feature, especially if you can simply specify what property of the databounditem to bind to.
