HI,

I NEED TO HAVE MULTIPLE OF GROUPS OF ELEMENTS EACH WITH DIFFERENT STYLING RULES - BUT SAME SEARCH RULE.
ALSO, EACH GROUP OF ITEMS WILL HAVE ITS OWN HEADING AND STYLING.

FOR EXAMPLE
SEARCH FOR JOHN SHOULD FILTER JOHN IN NBA AND NHL TEAM:

NBA TEAM

    JOHN DOE
   WILL SMITH

NHL TEAM

   DRAKE  DEAN
   JOHN  SMITH

IS IT POSSIBLE?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Hello,

Currently the Kendo UI Autocomplete widget doesn't support the requested capability. Grouping of items cannot be implemented.

Are there any plans to support this?
We need something similar. I had an initial go at it and I can get all of the items styled correctly, but changing the key navigation requires me to mess with a lot of the internals. Certainly possible, just a few overrides on kendo.List that I would rather not have on my code.

I found a solution based on another thread. Here's a DOJO. Still feels super hacky and breaks other parts of the component, like getting the dataItem that still depends on the index of the LIs
