Hi- I want to auto change focus on Date Input, I come across knowledge base which explains how to achieve this. My question is whether Telerik planning to have this feature inbuilt instead of work around. Means will be there any property expose so that making this property true this feature gets enable.

Link of work around i came across- https://docs.telerik.com/kendo-ui/knowledge-base/datepicker-auto-change-focus

As this is mostly use feature. I would like to request to add this feature for Date and Date time picker with Date Input by exposing one single property.

Hello Prashant,

Currently this behavior is not available as a built-in feature. The reason for this is that the DateInput should be able to handle various scenarios for entering a date. It is possible that the user enters a wrong value (e.g. month) and immediately decides to change it. In such scenario the focus should remain in the month section of the widget. Because of this the how-to article is provided as it illustrates how the behavior can be customized based on more specific scenarios.

With that said, if you would like to request a feature to be implemented you can do so in our UserVoice portal. Based on the traction a request gathers with the community the developers will consider it for implementation in a future release.

Thank You!. I will raise request for this feature in user voice portal. I was taking about exposing property (ex. AutoChangeFocus) which will remain false by default and developer who wants this behavior will make this property true just like we make DateInput as true when we want place holder. In case of scenario you explain above, developer will not make this property true and in my case where I want this specific behavior will make it true.
