Hello Team,

We want to display an icon in empty autocomplete field to let the users know that is data can be assigned to that field by clicking or typing on it, we know that we can achieve this by using a kendo dropdown, but we are using the autocomplete in various area's in our product, is there any way to show the icon by using CSS or in any other way, please let us know.

Thanks.

Hi Hari,

I am afraid that currently there isn't a built-in option that allows adding icons as AutoCopmlete placeholder. Please vote for the following feature request. Adding adornments to the AutoComplete would help to achieve the desired layout:

We are tracking the customer demand and will consider providing it in the future, based on the interest.

Placing the icon inside the AutoComplete input field is not recommended as it's not supported by Kendo Angular. Thus it might cause unwanted behavior with the component. The icon can be placed outside of the AutoComplete and adjusted with a little bit of custom CSS.
