Hi,
I know there is no support for the Express editions but does that mean reporting is impossible?  Is there a way of manually adding references and creating reports?

Thanks for any help.

Derek.

Hello Derek,

The Express editions of Visual Studio is that they do not offer the full feature set of the standard Visual Studio, and does not allow 3rd party extensions, such as the ones used by Telerik Reporting. For more information please see this forum thread. This limitation prevents the Telerik's Report Desinger from operating correctly as it requires a number of the restricted features.

However if you don't need the design time support you are still able to use the Reporting API to create your reports programatically (generally speaking what the designers usually do is save you some manual coding). For more information on the matter please see Programmatic Control of Reports and if you have any particular questions don't hesitate to ask.

Best wishes,
