Upgrade Forge

Use the installation method you originally chose to upgrade Forge.

Installer script: Run the installer again. It downloads the release, verifies the checksum, and replaces the installed frg. On Linux, it upgrades through the package manager when it installed a package.
Linux package: Download the new .deb or .rpm and install it with sudo apt install ./<file>.deb or sudo dnf install ./<file>.rpm.
Manual binary: Download the new asset and replace the existing file.

frg update upgrades a binary installation in place. See Update Command.

Verify the upgrade

Open a new terminal and run:

bash

frg --version

Expected output is the version you installed, for example:
