In 2014, dormakaba moved Kaba exos 9300 to the web using Telerik technologies and Kendo UI for jQuery. The move addressed deployment and maintenance challenges. Over time, however, inconsistent components, libraries and UI patterns made the frontend increasingly difficult for the internal team to standardize, extend and confidently own.

By 2019, dormakaba chose not to keep extending the existing frontend. The team rebuilt the web clients around React, creating a modern architecture it could understand, maintain and evolve internally.
Having already worked with Telerik technologies for five years, dormakaba chose KendoReact as the enterprise UI foundation: production-ready, well documented and predictable enough to build on for the long term.
The decision wasn’t about having more components. It was about having one less layer of infrastructure to worry about.
