Are You Windows Phone’s Next App Star? Only a Week Left to Apply

Do you want to see your Windows Phone app featured on TV? 

If yes, you better rush and opt-in for the Next App Star – a Windows Phone competition organized by Microsoft. Deadline is March 5^th . The top prize is featured placement of the winner’s app in a Windows Phone primetime TV ad in the U.S.

Other prizes include Nokia Lumia 920 phones, featured promotion in the Windows Phone Store, exposure for winning apps via online media and 1-year free Dev Center subscriptions.

Participation is easy -- the contest is open to Windows Phone developers worldwide.  Just visit the Dev Center to opt-in and publish apps by March 5^th.  App submissions will be judged based on equal weighting of user ratings and app quality, including implementation of new Windows Phone 8 features, like Live tiles. 

The field will be narrowed to 64 entries to participate in a head-to-head, bracket-style competition. Public voting will narrow the field to 32, 16, 8, 4, 2 and finally the grand prize winner.
