Improved LiveSync over the air. On iOS devices, LiveSync over the air synchronizes only modified and newly created files instead of the entire app.

General
  • You cannot LiveSync changes to Android apps if you have modified the Application identifier in the AndroidManifest.xml and config.xml files.
Frameworks
  • You cannot include a NativeScript plugin with missing platform keys.
Mobile Devices and Platforms
  • In NativeScript apps, when you have enabled identical permissions in .abproject and AndroidManifest.xml, a warning message appears on build.
  • You cannot LiveSync changes to iOS apps code signed with an in-house provisioning profile.
  • AppManager LiveSync does not work as expected for NativeScript apps running on iOS 10 devices. After you apply a AppManager LiveSync update, the app cannot reload and the following error message appears: Safari cannot open the page because it could not connect to the server.
In-Browser Client
  • When you develop Apache Cordova apps with Kendo UI, the in-browser client might become unresponsive and might need to close.
  • In Safari 10, when you build your app, the client becomes unresponsive and needs to close.
Windows Client
  • In the Telerik AppManager section of the Publish wizard, the content of the Distribution Groups field is not sorted alphabetically.
Extension for Visual Studio
  • You cannot debug apps on connected iOS 10 devices.
  • When you debug NativeScript apps, disconnecting the device does not close the debugger.
  • The AppBuilder login dialog takes a long time to appear.
  • After the Microsoft Visual Studio built-in debug tools reach a breakpoint in a NativeScript app on an iOS device, the Value column of the debug tools does not show the description of the objects and the functions.
  • After the Microsoft Visual Studio built-in debug tools reach a breakpoint in an Apache Cordova app, the Value column of the debug tools does not show the description of the objects and the functions.
  • In a NativeScript project, when you navigate to the NPM tab of the Manage Packages wizard, the NPM packages list is empty and no loading indicator appears.
  • When you run the native emulator for Android from the AppBuilder menu, the extension for Visual Studio launches the emulator but the build and deployment process never starts.
  • In the Telerik AppManager section of the Publish wizard, the content of the Distribution Groups field is not sorted alphabetically.
Command-Line Interface
  • The appbuilder appmanager groups command does not list Telerik AppManager distribution groups alphabetically.
  • You cannot LiveSync changes to Android 7 devices over cable.
Developer and Companion Apps
  • If the NativeScript developer app is not running in the background, you cannot deploy NativeScript apps using the QR code scanner of the Platform companion app on Android devices.

Breaking Changes

Warning Deprecated support for NativeScript 2.1.0. You can no longer change the target NativeScript version to 2.1.0. You will still be able to develop and build existing apps that target NativeScript 2.1.0.
Support for NativeScript 2.1.0 will be removed in a future release.

Warning Removed support for NativeScript 2.0.0. You can no longer build your app against NativeScript 2.0.0. To resolve the issue, migrate to a newer supported NativeScript version.

Warning Removed support for NativeScript 1.7.1. You can no longer build your app against NativeScript 1.7.1. To resolve the issue, migrate to a newer supported NativeScript version.
