Telerik JustMock

Roadmap

What's Coming in 2027?

In 2027, we plan to build on JustMock's advanced .NET mocking capabilities to help developers test agentic applications with greater confidence. Our focus is on simulating agent dependencies and verifying multi-step workflows, while continuing to improve the development experience and support the latest .NET technologies.

We thank you for your continuous support and encourage you to share your thoughts, plans, and ideas for what you want to see developed for JustMock in our dedicated feedback portal.

Below is the list of what we plan to work on in the upcoming year. We feel comfortable announcing these items, but there is more on our radar. Check back periodically for updates.

Telerik JustMock

Agent Testing and Workflow Verification

New feature

We plan to extend JustMock with a dedicated testing experience for agentic .NET applications, starting with Microsoft Agent Framework. Building on the existing mocking engine, this foundation will help developers simulate model responses, tool-call requests, and supported memory and service dependencies without relying on live AI services.

For repeatable tests, developers will be able to configure model responses for different prompts, simulate requests to invoke tools, and arrange responses across multiple conversation turns. They will also be able to verify how their applications execute agent workflows, including which tools were invoked, the arguments passed to them, the order of important workflow steps, and delegation or escalation between agents. Prompt verification will help confirm that the application supplies the expected instructions and context to the model.

The goal is to make agent tests repeatable in local development and CI/CD, without model API calls or token costs in fully simulated scenarios. Samples and guidance will show how to combine these capabilities with JustMock's existing support for difficult-to-isolate enterprise dependencies.

Workflow verification will help teams detect orchestration regressions, such as an agent skipping a required lookup, invoking a tool with incorrect parameters, or failing to hand off a request. These checks will complement AI evaluation libraries: evaluation checks response quality, while JustMock verifies the application's interactions and execution behavior.

Visual Studio Code Support

New feature

We plan to provide a supported Visual Studio Code experience for JustMock Commercial, making it easier for .NET developers to use JustMock as they write, run, and debug tests in their preferred editor. Our goal is to make it easier to get started, use JustMock's advanced mocking capabilities, and diagnose common setup issues without disrupting established development workflows. Developers will be able to work with JustMock-powered tests from within Visual Studio Code, bringing a more consistent testing experience to teams that choose this editor.

Support for .NET 12

New feature

Keeping pace with the .NET ecosystem remains a core priority. We plan to provide day-zero support for the first stable release of .NET 12, with support for preview releases as they become available.

This work will focus on compatibility across the mocking engine, profiler, and supported test execution paths, helping teams adopt the latest .NET version without disrupting their existing JustMock tests. Compatibility guidance will cover relevant runtime and tooling changes so developers can prepare their local and CI/CD environments for the upgrade.
