In this video, Kathryn is going to look at typefaces. There are two main ways in which we categorize typefaces – their historical basis and their physical appearance. Historically, we look at typefaces in 3 main categories: Humanist, Transitional, and Modern. On their physical appearance, well... there are different personalities a typeface can have - it can be playful or serious, youthful or energetic - the possibilities to choose one seem endless, so how do you go about that process?
