Hi,

We are looking to develop a new application using Xamarin.iOS. We are in need to a fully customizable ListView control and I've noticed that Telerik is going to release Xamarin.iOS ListView control in February.

If you guys need BETA testers before you can release the product in February, we can be your BETA testers.

Let me know if you guys are interested in me testing your ListView control now.

Hi Preetham,

Thank you for your interest in our Xamarin offering and for your willingness to help.

At the moment we do not plan to release a Beta before the public official version at the end of February. In case we decide otherwise, however, we will contact you accordingly. It will be also very helpful if you share with us the features that you will need from a ListView control.

Best regards,
Nikolay

Hello Nikolai,

Thank you for taking time to reply to my post. We are eagerly waiting for the release of the ListView component so we can use it in our Xamarin.iOS and Xamarin.Android Projects.

As you know the ListView is one of the most important components in a mobile app and the default UITableView that's provided by iOS is pretty bare bones and we had to write lot of custom code to make it work that way we want.

Here are some of the features we'd like to have :

1) Pull to Refresh the list
2) Custom icon for the 'Pull To Refresh' indicator. This is show when the list is pulled down instead of the usual spinner.
3) Have custom buttons on the list view. Similar to the list view in the default Twitter client in iOS. I love the way the 'star' image button is animated when I click on it.
4) Have custom images. Ability to download the image from the url and display in the cell with caching enabled.
5) Custom action buttons on swipe left or swipe right. This is similar to the way 'More', 'Flag' and 'Trash' buttons are display on swipe right and 'Mark as Unread' on swipe left is display in the mail client in iOS
6) Ability to have round corners on the images or show circle images

If we can have the above mentioned features for the first version, that would be fantastic!

Also, May I suggest another control that is very important but often overlooked by most third party component developers.

We need to have a CustomWebView control that displays the Address Bar and progress bar when the page is loading. The current WebView provided by iOS, doesn't show the address bar. The reason for this is sometimes, we'd like to have our users navigate to another website within the app. We don't want to open a safari session outside our app. If there is ability to inject javascript, then we can customize.

Let me know if this is a viable option for you guys.

Hello Preetham,

Thank you for sharing these requirements with us. Many of these ListView points will be covered in V1 of the Telerik Xamarin.iOS ListView. This control will closely follow the native ListView control that we are building for our UI for iOS suite, and you can read more about it in our Roadmap: http://www.telerik.com/support/whats-new/ios-ui/roadmap

Regarding the enhanced webview, I added this feature request in our feedback portal. Feel free to vote/comment it: http://feedback.telerik.com/Project/168/Feedback/Details/148670-custom-webview
