Hello,

I can't check it by myself, so I ask it here :)

Yesterday I updated Visual Studio (PC) to 16.7.4, including Xamarin.IOS 14.0.0.0, and my app doesn't work anymore. Views including SideDrawer fail to load, with this exception : Object reference not set to an instance of an object (Run on physical iPhone 8 / iOS 13)

The same project, with the same but version of telerik libs, compiled last Friday with VS 16.7.2 (Xamarin.iOS 13.20.2.2) works fine. Android runs are OK too.

Does anyone else have this bug or it's on my side only ? I prefer not tu upgrade to iOS 14 on the iPhone, if possible...

Thank you :)

OK I have an idea... The version was compiled without a mac connexion, with the "hot restart" functionnality.I just compiled a new version with a real mac connexion, and it run perfectly.

Hello Bra,

What you experienced was likely an SDK and/or tooling mismatch. Especially if coming from an older SDK. You will want to make sure VS2019 PC, VS2019 for Mac and Xcode are completely updated.

Note: Always open Xcode after updating it, this is so you can install the additional components for the SDK (i.e. emulators).

That being said, we have not 100% confirmed that Hot Restart (build and deploy iOS apps without a Mac) will always work under all conditions. Hot Restart is still in preview and may not provide a stable experience.

Thank you for the precisions.

I agree, Hot Restart, doesn't look very stable. I won't use it anymore... Classic compilation with mac, with everything up to date, works fine
