Hi, why there is no spellchecker control available in Telerik windows forms controls, and there is one available for Telerik ASP.NET controls ?
When will the spell checker control, be supported in Telerik Windows Forms controls ?
Is there any alternative free spell checker one can use ?

Hello Rabeeh,
Thank you for this question.
We do not have a spell checker component for WinForms and I cannot give you an exact time frame when we will implement such component. Currently, we are focused on improving our existing controls and the TPF framework. However, we always strive to implement new features and components that our customers request. So, if more people request the same functionality we will raise its priority. I hope this helps. Should you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

I'd also love to see a spellchecker! It's a little hard to believe you couldn't implement it in the winforms controls somewhat easily after already having delivered it in the ASP.NET controls. having purchased the whole Telerik suite, it's a bit disappointing to have to go back out and look for piecemeal additional controls and toolkits to complete my projects.

Hi msulis,
Thank you for your feedback.
We have a RadSpellCheker for WinForms in our plans for the future releases, but we still do not have an established time frame about it. However, your vote increased the priority of this task.
Best wishes,

I agree that a Winforms spell checker is needed. Could you please provide an update on the RadSpellChecker for WinForms?

Hello Jeff,
We still do not have an established time frame for the RadSpellChecker control. Indeed, it will be a nice addition to the RadControls for WinForms suite, but currently we are focused on the features described in our Roadmap for WinForms.

+1 vote for the spell checker.
I don't see it in your roadmap, is it still planned?
Thanks,
Frank

Hello guys,
Svett

Thank you for your vote. We have already created a road map for Q1 2011 and indeed, RadSpellChecker is not a part of it. We have general plans to introduce such a component in one of our next releases, but we cannot provide you with a specific time frame in which this task will be addressed.
Kind regards,Svett

+1 from me too - it's a bit of a pain needing to search out additional third party controls for odd bits of functionality like this (plus have to ship extra dlls etc.)
However, I understand that there's always a never-ending list of great requirements and only a finite amount of time!
Cheers,
Andy

Just wanted to add my +1 to this as well. I am currently starting down the road of looking for a good spell check control for winforms. Too bad it isn't already part of this library.

Hello Andrew,
Thank you all for writing.
In order to make this process easier I have added the RadSpellChecker as a feature request in our PITS system. So now everybody can follow this link - SpellChecker for RadControls - where you can vote for this request which will increase its priority and also you can subscribe for its status updates.
I hope you find this useful.
Best wishes,
