Morning,

I have a project in VS2022 targeting .NET 6.0 and using the UI.for.WinForms.AllControls.Net60 NuGet package. On installation of the package all controls appear in the Toolbox as expected. Upon restarting Visual Studio, all of the controls have disappeared. Attempting to re-add them manually from Choose Toolbox Items and browsing to the package DLLs results in errors as below for each DLL.

Do you have any suggestions as to why the controls won't persist in VS?

We've tried uninstalling and re-installing VS so as to start with a fresh install but the same issue occurs.

Many thanks,

John.

Hello, John,

Telerik UI for WinForms controls used to be automatically added to Visual Studio's Toolbox during the installation process when using .NET 2.0 (up to 4.8) Framework in your project. This means that the Toolbox population relies on the Telerik WinForms version available in the Global Assembly Cache.

With the introduction of .NET Core/.NET 5 and the WinForms designer, the Toolbox configuration doesn't rely on the GAC anymore and it is not necessary to have an installation of the Telerik UI for WinForms suite. The Toolbox version depends on the installed NuGet package.

I would recommend you to have a look at the following help articles which are quite useful on this topic:

https://docs.telerik.com/devtools/winforms/core/core-toolbox-version

I hope this information helps. If you need any further assistance please don't hesitate to contact me.
