Hello Sir,

We have bought Telerik License and we are using Telerik product from a long period of time. Now we want to update our Telerik License so that we are able to use updated version of Telerik with updated controls. But we are facing some problems with the Latest verion. As we are using Trial version of Telerik and while using it we have found that it is being clashed with its previous version.
Issue is that when we upgrade Latest verion of Telerik with the Previous version, it replaces Previous version completely(replaces old DLL with new DLL in same folder) and because of which a lot of problems occurs with the previous controls of Telerik. As Our Software is divided into multiple Exe files and we are using Telerik dll in these files and these are being used in multiple places and we do not want to compile all exe's again with new version. so we are not able to update our License because of the problems with some controls in previous version's exe. Please provide us the solution of this problem so that we can update our Telerik License and using it our Software will run without any problem.

Thank you

Hello Gurbir Singh,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for the late reply.
We allow parallel versions installations of our controls which allows different project and solutions to be created with different versions of the controls (here you could read more about Major and Minor releases).

However if you use the Telerik Control Panel for installing our products, by default it removes all previous versions of the selected products. This is an option which could be changed in order to keep your previous versions. You could change this option by checking the "Keep Previous Parallel Versions" check box in the Options Menu in the Control panel (see the attached images).

So in order to use multiple versions in different projects or solutions you will need to download the older versions of our controls. This could be done by downloading the older installers or only zip files using your Telerik account (here is the link: http://www.telerik.com/account/your-products/product-versions/olderversions.aspx?pid=523).

After downloading the versions you want, you just have to open each of your projects/solutions and use the Upgrade wizard in order to set the proper versions.

Do not hesitate to write again if you experience any further problems.

Hello Biliana Ficheva,
Thanks for your reply. The problem is still there, Firstly ,I do not want to open each of my projects/solutions for Upgrade wizard
Now we are planing to create new module in our software with latest version of telerik but do not want to change in existing projectes(exes).I explain my problem as following:-

Our existing exe's that are using previous version of telerik's dll in our installation folder with exe's. Now we are planing to create new module with latest version of telerik that is also copied in same folder in which  older version of telerik dll already exists with existing exe's,Now latest dll's of telerik replaces the old versions of dll ,that means our existing exe's stop working because existing exe's are complied by previous telerik dll's.And i do not want to compile my existing exe's with new version of telerik.

Thank you

Hi Gurbir,

In order to have different projects with different versions of RadControls for WinForms in them you just have to keep your older versions of the controls installed on your machine. This means that when you are installing a new version you should not uninstall the older ones. If you are using our Control Panel in order to install new versions you should check the "Keep Previous Parallel Versions" check box in it so that you could keep your older versions (this your older projects will work).

If you have installed the newer version without checking this check box this means that the older versions have been uninstalled and this is the reason for your not working old projects.

In order to get them working again you should install again the older versions of the controls which have been used in your projects.

Let me know whether this helps.

All the best,
