Hello!

I have created a custom field inherited from CodeBasedField. When I insert this field on a header or footer and click on the Close button, the editor attempts to update the header/footer fields and shows the Unsupported Field Expression error.

Is there anything I can do to stop the update process or avoid the error?

Hi William,

Is this the same project where the custom field is present? Provided that the code for the filed is there and the field has been registered properly, it should be evaluated in headers and footers as well.

Preventing the update isn't possible, but you shouldn't be observing the unsupported field expression in the first place. Check our Custom field SDK demo with the Samples Browser or on GitHub here.
