Trying to figure out something regarding Telerik and Nuget Telerik

So we purchased the telerik license. So we can download the software.

Why do we need the Nuget Telerik package.

Also If we did not have a telerik license... and just added the Nuget telerik package... why would we need to buy the telerik license.

I am new to telerik and just trying to figure out what all the parts do.

clearly telerik is not free. So why the Nuget package?

I had the same question as you when I first used Telerik. NuGet exists to help manage versions, dependencies, and CI/CD more easily, not to replace licenses. Packages can still be installed without a license, but they won't be fully functional or will result in warnings/locks. Granny Game

NuGet packages can be an easier and faster option to install and upgrade Telerik products in your app, compared to downloading and running installers.

Using our products without a license violates our terms of use. Your app will show a banner about the missing Telerik license to your end users, which is a legal and publicity problem.

NuGet packages are not equivalent to a free product. They are simply a standard means of distribution in the .NET world. On the other hand, most of our NuGet packages are hosted on nuget.telerik.com, which is a private NuGet feed that requires authentication and license authorization. In other words, you can't download Telerik NuGet packages without a license. And even if we decide to provide all our NuGet packages on nuget.org in the future, you will still need a purchased license and an installed license key to use our NuGet packages.
