Hi everyone,

after troubles with Telerik, I tried to re-install the ASP.NET MVC module I have a licence for, the install went well but now I cant create a Telerik app nor upgrade an MVC app. I have also de-installed VS2019 and reinstalled, no more luck.

I get the following error:

An error occurred while running the wizard.

Hi Raymond,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the extension.

I have checked our records and the error reports we received from your end are generated with old extension versions 2020.2.612.1. With that said I would suggest removing all Telerik extensions from the Visual Studio instance you are using, delete the ShadowCopy folder located under  %localappdata%\Temp\Telerik and then install all the Telerik VSExtensions from the Marketplace:

  1. Go to Extensions > Manage extensions
  2. Select the Online tab
  3. Search for the extensions(for example Progress Telerik UI for ASP.NET MVC Extension)
  4. Install All the Extensions you had previously
  5. Check if the issue still persists

Please let us know how it went or if you need additional assistance.

Hi Nikolay,

thanks for your feedback, as you may know the latest purchased version I can access is 2020.2.616.1, I would like to know that installing from the marketplace I will not install a trial version.

Regards

Raymond

Hello Raymond,

The Visual Studio Extensions are not bound with the license of the product and therefore feel free to update them to the latest version. Also, I would suggest you to keep the extensions to the latest version because we are constantly fixing issues and improving them.
