[Solved] Support for Mono

I'm attempting to run the Telerik.Web.Mvc.Examples under Mono (2.4.2.3) and I'm getting 500 server errors (starting with recursionPolicy != NoRecursion).  I started working my way down through the source code for Telerik.Web.Mvc.dll and continue to find more incompatibilities the current version of Mono. 

I know that RadControls work under Mono, will this same promise of compatibly be kept for the new MVC version in future releases?

Indeed we have not tested the beta with Mono and there are likely to be problems. However we will investigate the issues and try to provide support for Mono in a future release.

Hi.

I noticed that Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC Q1 2010 SP1 was released on May 18, 2010.

Does this have support for mono?

If not, when can we expect support?  (There is no roadmap for ASP.NET MVC like the roadmap for ASP.NET AJAX.)

Otherwise, it seems like Telerik RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX Q1 2010 SP2 released on May 19, 2010 is the only product for .net web based solutions that has mono support, is this correct?

Is the latest release of MVC extensions supported on Mono?

Hi Ish,

 Yes it is. However as far as I know  the current official version of Mono does not support ASP.NET MVC 2 out of the box. You should use the MVC1 build of Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC.

It's been a while since this thread was updated.

Just curious if there is support for Mono in the latest version of Telerik MVC?

v2.10 of Mono now supports MVC 3 and Razor. http://www.mono-project.com/Release_Notes_Mono_2.10#ASP.NET_MVC3_Support

Does Telerik Reporting run on Mono?

I use it in an existing website that we are hoping to migrate to MVC 3 and then to a Linux box running Mono.

Hello Briankb,

Currently in some Telerik Reporting rendering extensions we are using Uniscribe Windows lib for processing texts.  Due to missing adequate alternatives to Uniscribe, currently Telerik Reporting supports only Windows as elaborated in the System Requirements page.
