Splitview and tabstrip

This scenario is currently not supported - a SplitView cannot be used in a View. You can add a feature request to our Kendo UI UserVoice page.

Is this still accurate? Can a "splitview" not be contained in a "view"?

I am trying to have a layout with a header navbar, a splitview in a view and a footer.

Hi Steven,

Yes, this is accurate - SplitView can't be nested inside a View. You can directly use flexbox styling or reuse the SplitView styling within a View, but this is not a real SplitView and you can't navigate Views inside it. There are some other limitations too, thus this use case is not officially supported. Check my last answer in this thread for more information and a sample.
