It sure would be nice if once reverse-mapping was completed, I could go back and use Advanced View to change a class...the problem is that Advanced view doesn't seem to load the reversemapping.config file, because ALL the tables are selected in Advanced View, which is not the case in Simple View. Is this going to be taken care of along with the CheckAll/UnCheckAll button?

Hi SuperXRAY,
In my case all tables are there but with regard to the MapsTo setting they have different icons in the tree and if you select one you will see that the setting is the same as in simple view.

If you have real differences you should send us your reversemapping.config file.

Best wishes,

Yes, on my machine every table in Advanced View is set to be generated, whereas in Simple View, I have tables that are Generate=false (CheckBox unchecked). What I noticed last night is that if I initially start with Advanced View and save the config, everything works fine, but if I start with Simple View, I have this issue.

Since both of my development machines are Vista x64 with SQL 2008 Management Objects, CLR, and Native Clients, I can't troubleshoot the machine configs being the problem. I've also noticed that once I've run reverse-mapping, I can't go back and make changes through the reverse-mapping wizard, because it doesn't update the objects themselves, only the reversemapping.config file gets updated. It's almost like the ORM Wizard doesn't trigger a check-out through TFS, therefore the files stay in read-only mode. Has this been tested with TFS?

Perhaps it's the machine configuration or that we use TFS, or a combination of those two...I've had to delete all of the references and class files in my projects that are enabled everytime I want to experiment with the ORM Wizard because of these issues. While that isn't a huge deal on small projects, it is quite a hinderance when projects have hundreds of objects. We have a couple projects on our 'to make demo' plate and it would be really nice to use the ORM.

So, if you want a reversemapping.config file, which one do you want? I've looked at them and there is little difference, but I guess I could include screen shots. It's starting to take quite a bit of time to diagnose issues...

What about that checkbox?

Hi SuperXRAY,
I still do not understand your problem in detail.

The checkbox 'Generate' means that the next time you click the 'Generate' button we will regenerate those classes. This setting should be used if you do not want to overwrite your already generated code.

'Generate' has nothing to do with the 'Maps To' setting, which means in general that this table is mapped.

The settings 'Generate' is only available in the simple view, it is not available in the advanced view.

All the best,
