To telerik team:

Gentlemen;
What's your short term and/or long term plan to have reporting for SL?
a) Would it have a GUI design time support?
b) At design would it be able to see live data?
c) Would it be our responsibility to make the data available to the client side before the report can use it? Or, would it be able to make call to a middle tier service to get the data?

d) If the latter, would telerik also provide a "Report" engine server/service for the client to consume it's formatted data? If yes, this service can also be very valuable to AJAX client, WPF client, WinForm Clients that operate in 3-tier environment.

c) If there is such a thing boiling in the pipeline, what would be in it's first revision?

Thank you as always!
..Ben

Hello Ben,

We do not have plans to have Reporting product for Silverlight yet.

You can check our existing Telerik Reporting product here:

Would you say, your existing product can be used to produce report for Silverlight?

Thanks!

Hello Ben,

No, no - I'm not saying this :)

We have other uses asking for Teporting product for Silverlight, but so far we do not have plans for releasing a Reporting product for Silverlight.

I knew I'm going to get your attention on this :-)

I thought you guys go to bed at night and by morning when you wake up, you have a nice, completed product... :-)

Well, you know we're going to be bugging you for reports soon! Get ready to say "Go away, go away"!

Thanks!
