Hi

I'm currently using the Kendo Grid in a mobile app (using the App Builder). The leftmost column is frozen, so that I can scroll horizontally when the number of columns increases. This works perfectly fine!

However, it seems that the frozen column cannot be used for vertical scrolling. Meaning, I have to swipe the non-frozen columns to be able to scroll vertically.

Is this by design, or am I missing something?

Thanks!

Jon

Hello Jon,

The behavior that you are describing is due to the way that the frozen columns functionality is implemented. However, since this could be a good addition to the mobile behavior of the Grid, I could suggest that you create an item in our public feedback portal:

Hi Konstantin,

OK, thanks for the clarification.

I really hope that you will look into this, because it feels (for the end-user at least) like a bug not to be able to swipe the frozen column to scroll the list vertically. Especially when we've implemented a custom drill-down (treeview) functionality when tapping the cells in the first column. Meaning that the user first taps a cell, then is unable to scroll unless placing the finger in a non-frozen column.

Anyway, I've create a suggestion as you suggested here.

Hello Jon,

Although the currently observed behavior is by design, it may be possible to remove the discussed limitation. We will consider implementing the required fix for some of the next Kendo UI versions.
