Hi, I don't know where exactly to post this question. As is related to themes and I'm working on the VSB then I post it here.

I'm creating a custom shape, similar to conversation "balloons", trying to get a visual style similar to, for example, Whatsapp messenger application. I'm using the option "Custom shape" on the shape property of the item I'm modifying, radgridview cellelement. The problem is that I need to reuse this balloon shape on all states of the cellelement, hoovered, clicked, selected, etc. On the shape editor I saved the new shape as "Balloon" thinking that I would have it on the shape property combo box. But my hopes were dashed, I do not see the new shape on the combo box neither I can select it on any other place.

So my question is: how can I reuse this shape? Other than copy+pasting on each shape property of ALL the cellelement states.

Thanks in advance

As usual, once at home with clean thoughts I found how to do it, is very easy. Just in case if someone else needed:

Add a new repository item, there are several to choose from, gradient, shape, image shape, etc. I used gradient and shape. Made my changes, saved with new name. Then on the corresponding state of the data cell element I selected the repository item I wanted to reuse. As easy as 1,2,3...

Hello Yaroslav,

Thank you for writing and for the follow up.

This is exactly how to reuse theme settings. The whole idea behind repository items is make styling easier, faster and less resource consuming. We strongly recommend putting all possible settings into repository items. This not only allows you to reuse them but also makes it easier for one to quickly review what is set for a given element/state and allow you to change settings at one place.

If you have other questions, do not hesitate to write back.
