Hi there

I have report that has a frame background image, when I export the report to a PDF it works 100%, but it doesn't display correctly in the ReportViewer. I understand that this has something to do with it rendering as HTML?

Is there a way to either set the ReportViewer "view" as PDF? I just need the reportviewer to display it the same a PDF would look.

I would like to keep it in the ReportViewer as a client can first view/confirm before exporting to PDF.

Thank you.

Hi Jako,

What do you mean by "frame background image"? Are you using a PictureBox for a background or are you setting the background of a report/section or another item (panel for example)? What exactly is the difference between the two outputs - is the image missing, distorted or something else?

The Report Viewer has a Print Preview button which will show you how the report will look like when it is exported to hard page format such as PDF - have you tried this option and if you have, do you experience the same issue with your image? This view can be set as default option, by setting the ViewMode property of the viewer to PrintPreview.

Additionally we would appreciate if you provide us with additional information regarding your issue, like screenshots of the PDF/Viewer and steps to reproduce the problem.

All the best,

I want to make statements, in ReportViewer shows these controls or label, but these controls or label is hidden, not printing.

Report provides these features, or attribute set?

thank you

Hello,

There is no out of the box feature that will help you in your requirement. However you can create a report with a hidden bool report parameter (with default value true), which will control the display of items by using conditional formatting. Then you can remove the standard print button from the report viewer and provide your own which will print the report programmatically, but with the bool parameter set to false (since the default value is true the users will see those items in the report viewer). For more information about the print functionality please check the PrintReport method.
